12 weeks done. We now have 5 former students happily working in the thick of things on the front line of one very big and very busy landfill. During peak times, it receives about 1,200 tonnes per hour, that’s a truck every 40 seconds!
We are just working on the finer skills on individual machines, Tay, Tennelle, Fi and Kyla have been working on wheel loaders this week, we’re really enjoying seeing their progress from initially never being on a machine before, to now being efficient, competent operators on dozers, excavators, loaders, articulated trucks, skid steers and more!

Diversity in your workforce is important for more reasons than I’m going to into now. Another need for diversity is with your trainers. You may have gathered we are currently running a 12-week program for a customer to develop a new pool of operators for the waste industry.
